Using An Eyelash Curler
This is probably the most common way of curling one’s lashes. It is pretty straightforward as you only need to use the curling device. Press this at the base of your lashes. Make sure to use a dominant hand to have better control of your movements. Do this without any mascara on your lashes. Pulse this repeatedly and hold it for about five to ten seconds. Then, move halfway through your lashes and pulse again. Do this for at least five seconds to have that defined and long-lasting curl. You can now proceed to add mascara.
Use A Spoon
If you are intimidated by using the eyelash curler, you can use a spoon. Dip your metal spoon in a cup with warm water. Leave that for about three minutes. This will warm the metal up. Make sure that the spoon you use actually fits your eyes. Take the spoon and place the curved side over your eyelid. Proceed to gently push your eyelashes against the edge of the spoon and upward. Keep this position for about ten seconds so that your curl will actually hold.
Use A Toothbrush
Yes, you read that right. A toothbrush can be more than just cleaning your teeth. Warm-up your toothbrush by dipping it into hot water for a few minutes. Then, dry the bristles using a clean towel. Take the bristles and hold it over your eyelashes. Comb through your lashes and then push them upwards against the toothbrush. Do this for about 10 seconds at a time to ensure that your lashes will actually curl. If your lashes are not curling, you can dip the toothbrush again in warm water and then repeat the process.
Use Your Fingers
You can do this step after you have applied mascara. Generously apply the mascara on both your upper and lower lashes. Once each hair is sufficiently coated, take your index and thumb and rub them together. Once your fingertips are warm enough, push your lashes upward. Start from the roots and then hold them upward. Do this for about ten to fifteen seconds at a time.
